The Baker and her buddy...

So i have taken every Cooking class the school has to offer. I love to cook, that's just it. But this year i have experimented in baking. And i have gotten really good. At first, it wasn't pretty. They wanted to fire me, but i kept trying at it and i am so much better now. And who doesn't love some free cupcakes!?
So im going to walk you through making my Marshmellow Fondant. Like formerly used on Cake Boss. Not the nasty store stuff. The good kind.
You need some Crisco. The smallest you can get is this jar, so you might as well have surplus.(Thanks Civics for that new vocabulary)
1 bag of Marshmellows
Water and
2lbs of powdered sugar.

1st. Melt marshmellows and 2 tbs. of water in a microwave safe container.
Then, pour 3/4 of powdered sugar on top of marshmellows.

Then, smile at your handy helper so he will keep helping while you take pictures.

Then admire the camera since your hands are greased with Crisco (Next Step)

So after Greasing hands with Crisco... which as seen is very sticky.

Your going to also grease your counter. Preferably a wide range so you have room to work.
Then pour powdered sugar and Marshemellows on counter.

Then proceed to knead into this...(below)... takes me about 10 minutes.
When it gets to this consistency and it wont tear when stretched; add the rest of the powdered sugar and continue kneading.

When finally all kneaded grease a layer of Crisco on fondant and let sit at ROOM TEMPERATURE over night. Do not make my idiotic mistake of putting it in the fridge. Unless you want Rock!?

Then the following day make cake or cupcakes, icing to make sure fondant will stick and get decorating...

And make sure to share with a friend!!

My handy Decorating partner. Best decorating set EVER! I love it. It was so easy and so fun!! I highly reccomend!

So i hope you enjoyed my baking adventures and tune in next for some more Austyn Fun! :))
